1. What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains what information Vublic ("Vublic", "we", "us") collects from Guests and Vendors who use the Vublic platform, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the Vublic website and any related mobile experience.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: full name or business name, mobile number, and a hashed 4-digit PIN. We never store your PIN in plain text — it is hashed using industry-standard password hashing before it is saved.
- Location data: with your device permission, your approximate or precise GPS location, used to show nearby vendors, calculate distance, and share your location with a Vendor once you confirm a booking.
- Booking information: services requested, notes you add for a Vendor, booking status, and ratings or reviews you submit.
- Vendor business information: business name, address, working hours, services offered and their pricing, and any verification documents submitted.
- Technical information: basic device and browser information, and session data needed to keep you logged in securely.
3. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account, and authenticate you when you log in.
- To show you nearby vendors or guests and connect a booking request to the right party.
- To operate features you use directly, such as Immediate/emergency booking, favourites, ratings, and Vublic Rewards.
- To communicate booking-related notifications (for example, that a Vendor accepted your request).
- To maintain the security, integrity, and performance of the platform, and to investigate misuse.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. What we share, and with whom
- Between Guests and Vendors: when you send or accept a booking, the other party sees the information needed to complete the job — for a Guest, that includes your name and location; for a Vendor, that includes business details, services, and ratings.
- Service providers: we may use hosting and infrastructure providers to operate the platform, bound by confidentiality obligations, solely to provide those services to us.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid governmental request.
5. Location data specifically
Location access is requested by your browser or device, not silently collected. You can decline or later revoke location permission through your device or browser settings, though doing so will limit features that depend on it, such as seeing nearby vendors or sending an accurate booking request.
6. Data retention
We retain account and booking information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution needs. You may request deletion of your account as described in Section 8.
7. Security
We use measures including PIN hashing, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access controls to protect your information. No online platform can guarantee absolute security, and we encourage you to keep your PIN confidential and avoid reusing it elsewhere.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can review and update your account details from your Profile page at any time.
- You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or request that we delete your account and associated data, by contacting us at the email below, subject to any records we're required to keep by law.
- You can revoke location permission at any time through your browser or device settings.
9. Children's privacy
Vublic is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in-app where practicable, and continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
